Kundalini yoga is the yoga of awareness. Typically, every Kundalini yoga class cultivates all of the 8 limbs of yoga in one session. As a practice, Kundalini Yoga supports the natural, progressive and safe awakening of one’s dormant energy (Kundalini) located at the base of the spine. It is a dynamic form of yoga that brings significant positive changes quickly. Its focus on breath instead of flexibility makes it very accessible to a wide range of audiences. Some of the direct and immediate benefits one can experience affect body, mind and spirit.


On the physical level:

As the various asanas and kriyas stimulate different glands (associated to each chakra) and promote conscious breathing, this stabilizes the nervous system, helps digestion, releases physical tension, develops flexibility among many other benefits.


On the energetic level:

Kundalini Yoga also enables a purification of the body in general and opens the energy centres in the body (chakras). It stimulates the Kundalini energy at the base of the spine so that it may rise and give way to an experience of one’s full potential.


On the mental level:

Through pranayama (breathing techniques), mantras and sound vibration, the mind is calmed and becomes more clear. Specific meridian points on the palate of the mouth are also affected through chanting. 


A regular kundalini yoga practice brings emotional stability, a strengthened immune system and greater clarity. It helps one develop a neutral mind and cultivate awareness which in turn impacts one’s habits and life in general. On the spiritual level, as the Kundalini energy is unblocked, rises and as chakras open, the individual experiences more of his/her highest potential and is able to move forward in his/her life with greater confidence.
